On September 18, 1988, after military seized power and opened fire on peaceful, student-led pro-democracy protesters, killing an estimated 3,000 people. There is a famous photo taken on September 19, 1988, when a schoolgirl, Win Maw Oo was shot and two young doctors carrying her to save her life. It’s been a while since my last post about Burma’s situations. Aunty Su (daw Aung San Suu Kyi) was sentenced to 1.5 years house arrest (in conclusion), Yettaw was just sent back to US.

Ohhh come on!!!!! Why didn’t he say that before?

On the other hand, Than Shwe, obviously, has plan to release Yettaw for he is the man who worked for him (my doubt). Senator Jim Webb’s visit was a great excuse for him to release Yettaw as if Jim Webb requested for it. Isn’t it ridiculous that someone who breaks into someone else’s house got no penalty? But the owner of house got three years jail term with hard labor. What a strange judicial system our country has.

But wait, Than Shwe is so kind that (aham…) he gave some amnesty to her by reducing court’s order to 1.5 years of house arrest. Quite enough time to keep her under house arrest until unfair election he is planning to make will finish!

Anyway, I wrote above a few days ago and forgot to complete it. Actually, Burma political situation has almost no hope. ThanShwe will continue with his plan to hold election. His constitution ensures about 20% places in parliament and important ministers and president are also from Military. Even so, some army generals will compete in election using their power to cheat. What else left?

Since this problems arose, I wanted to write about this. It is still unclear what make William Yettaw to sneak into Daw Aung San Suu Kyi’s house. But I still doubt SPDC is behind this. What if SPDC made very secret connection with William Yettaw and plotted this together?

You know, it is the time for them to release Daw ASSK. They have no way out. They never want to release her because they had committed the De-pa-yin massacre with the intention to kill Daw ASSK. But, when they couldn’t kill her, they put her under house arrest with no proper reason. (Murderers arrested good persons.) The LAW seems to be whatever they said.

On the other hand, they are moving towards so-called election on 2010 which will make them legal to rule the country as long as they want. They want no one standing across their way. They held referendum last year while the country was facing terrible natural disaster. By that so-called referendum, they could confirm the constitution which was written to control the country as they want. Yes, of course, referendum was a fake and the election they would make in 2010 will be a fake too. Let me guess, they might not release her before their election.

Actually, if someone sneak into daw ASSK’s house, it was the weakness of security around the house. The house was guarded with polices 24 hours a day. The gates across the road in front of her house were closed during night time. But how could they miss a man who came in. So, this is a big question everyone is asking.

But in conclusion, daw ASSK was accused and prosecuted. But we know and the whole world knows that she is innocent and SPDC is using their low-standard, coward, shameless, and vile intentions towards her.

So, the question is: Why are the sincere leaders of the world caring her, worried for her but SPDC alone is accusing her as a criminal?

Yes. Everybody knows the answer.

I wrote the following last week and left unfinished. But I think I should just post it part by part since it would be a long post. And this post is not a new story. I just want to compile some of my point of views on last year.

People here are grumbling for electric power outage these days. You know, we get just around 2 hours of electricity a day. It was terrible. The city Thanshwe just built is shining with bright lights at night. You can feel that you are approaching the city when you see the brighter street lights on highway. If you reach to Kyap-pyay (naypyiday as they call) you would think it is a different country due to bright lights and full electricity all time. Although the whole country is suffering, Than Shwe is celebrating the opening of a new huge pagoda called Uppatasanti.  Who knows how much money used in this project while people from delta region are still suffering from poverty after cyclone Nargis. Without the help of INGOs’ I can’t think of how they would survive.

ThanShwe built this city. He built it following the instructions of astrologers in order to maintain his power. He used money of the country in building this Kyap-Pyay city (naypyidaw, according to him), in building his strong army and in upgrading is wealth day by day.  But people has no opportunity to do business freely. Villagers are oppressed, ethnic people are oppressed, no freedom of expression, no freedom in religion. It may sounds like an old song but Burma suffered more than that. So, let me write this for the days I couldn’t blog.  

In the end of last year, lots of democracy activists were sentenced to long term imprisonments.  Activists like 88 generation students got around 65 years of jail terms for walking silently on roads after fuel price hike in August 2007. People like comedian Zargana who helped the cyclone victims got of jail terms of 59 years. Thanshwe, that brutal Thanshwe and SPDC did nothing for cyclone victims for weeks. Although international news broadcasted the forecast and warned about cyclone to Burma on time, Burmese SPDC described it as there was no danger. Although there were warnings at evening of May 2 on TV, it was quite late and information was not bold enough to reach all the people. The cyclone Nargis entered the Irrawaddy delta region and Yangon that night. Small huts of villagers were blown away by wind and people were killed by strong tide. When the storm calm down, the land was with dead bodies floating around. People survived have nothing to eat, nowhere to live and family members were dead and lots of dead bodies around them. SPDC even didn’t think to do rescue works. Only the NGOs INGOs and individual people and groups went there to help. The army even stopped the helpers in various incidents. International aids were trying to enter the country by helicopters and by ships.  But Thanshwe and SPDC did not care and resume the planned referendum throughout the country.  (it would be another story to write about their fake referendum for the constitution which was written as they wished to rule Burma eternally.) Later, after the visit of Ban Ki-moon, SPDC allowed foreign aids on May 19.
